Monday morning, first stop, Malmö after arriving in Sweden of the second time, this time though the AMIRA unit was a production model with all working parts.
Packed up and ready to go...
Armed with 3 lenses, Canon HD, Canon SD and the Fujinon Cabrio including ARRI’s prototype PL to B4 adaptor the Camera Nordic Crew accompanied by Mark Dollery from ARRI set out to the first appointment in Malmö.
The set-up at the first stop in Malmö
Right after lunch they headed to the second location in Malmö, at our friends, Scandinavian Photo. Always welcoming and a great bunch of helpful and knowledgeable guys the AMIRA was quickly set up and the showing of the unit and opinion gathering commenced instantaneously from the clients who came in.

In the evening after packing up the crew took the red eye train into Stockholm and got ready for the next day!
Great shooting in post card settings
Tuesday was a shooting day, it was the opportunity the Camera Nordic Crew was waiting for, to put the camera to the test and use it. With the help of DoP Andres Rignell FSF we were able to perform quality and substantial shots, testing the AMIRA’s ranges.
great camera ... great locations ... great day ... great country ...
How else can we sell something to our clients without knowing it, let alone something as fundamental as a camera. It is our belief here at Camera Nordic that growth is based on mutual trust from our clients and our suppliers, therefore we feel obliged to know and test all the products we offer in order to convey to our clients our true experiences and opinions and not only be based on PDF spec sheets.
"Hanging around" the green screen, the AMIRA is truely an all rounder
So with that in mind we hit the town, and suburbs, we shot everything from a hanging lady in a green screen, to fire sequences and from panoramic views to “in the street” shots.
Behind the scenes at the green sceen shot...
We tried to cover the whole range of images the AMIRA might face including hand carrying it around so as to get a feel for the weight and the portability of the unit.
City Shots, on the streets for fast takes...
With more appointments coming and going Thursday evening came around which coincided with May’s ViewFinder event. The set up was truly impressive.
Testing grab and go shots with no prep time and in difficult lighting conditions the result... amazing
On the Cartoni Delta stood the AMIRA with an ENG set up, having the Fujinon Cabrio 19-90 Lens mounted on and completing the set-up with an on-board mic and battery ready for shooting at a moments notice.
Balanced? OK lets go...
On the Master2 head stood and ALEXA Studio showing of the SMC-1 rig complete with a TVLogic Monitor and the first Angenieux Anamorphic Zoom in meter scale.
Yep thats the one, the Anamorphic Zoom from Angenieux in meter scale!
Finally between then on the Gamma Head stood the Sony F55 fully rigged with the new UMC-4, 3 CLM-4 motors controlled by none other than the WCU-4. The Sony F55 was also rigged with the UDM-1 and with the combination fo the UMC-4 visitors were very impressed to see the new auto focus function the combination of the two units provide.
The F55 rigged up for serious shooting, like the big boys complete with autofocus thanks to the UMC-4 and the UDM
Available was also an EMC-1 for the ENG lenses should anyone want to try it, with such a line up the event was nothing less then a success.
A little down time but always talking shop in wonderful surroundings...
It was a long night, a very long night, but nevertheless Friday morning the Camera Nordic Crew was again on the road with the AMIRA going for quick “heads-up” visits to clients around the Stockholm area, collecting feedback and showing the new unit.
"Behind the scenes" during one of our outings around the city
The AMIRA week actually ended on Monday mid-day when she was put in a box and headed to her next location, leaving behind though was better educated support crew with a deeper understanding of the camera and with some hands-on experience. Knowledge and experience, which is to be conveyed to the all the potential suitors of the AMIRA and of course to those who are eagerly awaiting her arrival.
Caj Müller testing the AMIRA during a shooting... thank you for the oportunity!
