ALEXA 65 Mission: Accomplished

The first production to make use of the ALEXA 65 large format digital camera system has hit theaters: Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation was shot primarily with 35 mm film cameras by Robert Elswit ASC, but a major underwater sequence was captured with prototype ALEXA 65 cameras in special HydroFlex housings by Pete Romano ASC, in order to maximize image quality for the heavy visual effects. Elswit, Romano and crew spent a month shooting the sequence in a water tank at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden earlier this year, and Romano speaks here about his experiences.
86 Cannes Film Fesitval

A wonderfully successful festival again for ARRI in Cannes, with almost 60% of feature films from all selections being shot with ARRI equipment and more than 40% captured with the ARRI ALEXA and ARRI cine lenses. Overall, more than half of the festival's films that were shot digitally used ALEXA as their main camera, showing that ARRI remains the pre-eminent technology leader, setting a gold standard for the rest of the industry.
Anamorphic Ultra Wide Zoom

ARRI’s Anamorphic Ultra Wide Zoom AUWZ 19-36/T4.2 is a unique lens that perfectly complements the Master Anamorphics by extending the range to cover extreme wide-angle focal lengths between 19 mm and 36 mm, without any sacrifice in image quality. The telecentric optical design of the AUWZ means that it has highly uniform field illumination, from the center to the very corners of the image. Focus breathing is virtually non-existent, distortion is kept to an absolute minimum and straight lines stay straight, even at close focus.

This is Sweden’s top 10 box office hits for 2014. Two notable aspects of this list is that one animated movie has remained on the top 10 throught out while Hundraågen has kept the top position for the whole duration of 2014. Its also notable that one feature which was shot in anamorph has finished in 9th position. Congratulations to all the nominees of the 87th Academy Awards. Nordic Cine ProZone 2014

As Official Partners of Nordic Cine 2014 , Camera Nordic is very pleased to announce that the show was a success. Lens Data for all

The role and importance of lens data has increased in the last years, either from the increase in complexity of on-set shots or from the ever more demanding VFX scenes required today. With ARRI’s new LDE-1 and SUP 2 for the WCU-4, lens data is available regardless of the set up, this gives the ability to use any camera, any lens, (even manual follow focus!) and still have the all the parameters that modern setups have.

ALEXA XR/XT ProRes 3,2K for UHD

Designed from the outset to be adaptable and future-proof, ALEXA can easily accommodate productions that choose to follow a UHD or 4K workflow. The camera's stellar overall image quality in combination with ProRes 3.2K (due for release as a software update in early 2015) and ARRIRAW Open Gate (released earlier this year) allows for simple up-sampling to UHD or 4K in a quality at least as good as other contenders.
AMIRA UHD

There’s a new software upgrade for the ARRI Amira camera, that will allow it to record ProRes UHD files, the upgrade will available for purchase by the end of the year. The purchasable upgrade will offer the ability to record all ProRes codecs in UHD 3840 x 2160 resolution directly onto the in-camera CFast 2.0 cards, at up to 60 fps (via an upscale filter). The upgrade will be available via a new software license (and a sensor calibration for existing Amiras), this is a response to user feedback, collected through a number of ‘quizzes’ given to customers by resellers.
Amira's Week in Sweden

Starting from Malmö and ending up in Stockholm, a full week on the road with many loactions and a party to top it all.
A full week with the AMIRA in hand, a mix of presentations, shootings, and alot of testing, it was truely a full week for the AMIRA. On Thursday during the Viewfinder event the AMIRA was also joined by a number of the newest ECS (Electronic Control Systems) from ARRI which were presented during NAB a short wile ago, expanding the posibilties production possibilities for a huge range of cameras.

Event Report - Nordic Arrivals 2014

It started out as a simple product presentation, admittedly a very long awaited and highly anticipated product, but nevertheless just a product presentation. Within a very short period of time, with the drive of Camera Nordic’s team and the support of the biggest rental houses within the Nordic region, the first Nordic Arrivals expo was created and as time showed resulted in nothing less than a success.
Event Report - GoKinema 2014

Once again the gates of Gothenburg opened to host the 2014 GoKinema event and the Gothenburg International Film Festival. GoKinema is a unique event, which brings together students, established filmmakers and industry suppliers at the Gothenburg Film Studio. The venue houses the commercial aspect of the GoKinema event in the main studio area, the Open Set in Studio 2 and the Seminar/Workshop in Studio 3.
