Which is the best quality? Which is the best workflow to preserve that picture quality? Are more K’s OK or not?
These questions haunt film makers, regardless of country and budget, even for purely informative reasons these questions were asked from the dawning of digital film making. The transition from an organic median (film) to a digital one brought with it many changes in the way we capture, process and finally also judge images. To no surprise this change introduced new equipment (cameras, hard drives, sensors) new positions (i.e. DIT’s, MMT’s etc.) and as conclusion new workflows.
Raw Management ventures through the hardware solutions of this evolution of our field. The units presented are responsible for capturing and managing almost 95% of all award wining motion pictures world wide, one might argue that this is the pinnacle of digital motion picture evolution.
